Gastly's Tonuge

This is my 2nd pokemon render. I decided to do Gastly because it was more difficult (but not too difficult). I actually modeled a background for this one.  The smoke was supposed to be the easiest thing to do but Blender's smoke simulator seems to be broken on my computer and I could never find a solution. I ended up having to do something involving deformed spheres, a particle emitter, and volumetric shading.   It came out a lot better than I thought it would but I still wish I could have done the smoke simulation.
